Fears - where are they from?
Where do our fears come from? What is their source, and how can we free ourselves from them? I once asked a wise man these questions. At the same time, I also asked how to let go of control in life—how to release that inner compulsion to arrange the world around me according to my own vision...
The wise man simply smiled. He looked at me and said: These two questions actually answer each other.
So, dear ones, it turns out that fear and excessive control form a dramatic duo that robs many people of the joy of living. They operate subtly and seem unrelated. They're like secret lovers, quietly wreaking havoc together, yet no one suspects their connection.
Let me start with FEAR. For example, I worry about my child's future. I fear they won't cope, that they won't be an excellent student, that they might not have a great job... But how do I know what path this child is meant to follow? How do I know what the future holds? I don't. I merely assume a version of who my child should be and how they should get there. And I struggle to accept that they might not be that way, and may choose a different path...
This assumption—my idea of who my child should be—and the expectation that they will become that is the other partner in this secret relationship: CONTROL. And it stems from the mistaken belief that my truth is the only right one. My expectations, projections, and assumptions about the future are just my personal version of the world. And there are as many versions of the world as there are people (plus a few more for those who carry more than one "truth" within themselves).
I'm learning to let go—oh, it's not easy... I'm learning to trust life, to trust God. I now see that what in my mind claims to hold the only correct perspective is actually a trap. And most often, I fall into it—and those closest to me feel the impact. After all, where is it easiest to impose my vision? Where I have influence.
It becomes more serious when politicians, employers, or religious leaders impose their "truth." Their influence reaches far beyond that of a simple "woman from the woods" like me... And some have a right-wing truth, others a left-wing one, and still others a mix of different ideas. They gather people whose truths resemble their own. And just like that, entire fronts, religious movements, and political parties are formed. And they growl at each other, push and pull, dig up dirt—and even start wars...
And all of us are caught in exactly the same trap of our own "truth."
I'm working on my inner controller, releasing fears, and opening my heart to the idea that everyone has their own path. Even my husband (oh, that's hard!) and my children. Through this work, I feel lighter. Life flows with more harmony, and the people around me feel less tense.
In Circles, we sometimes meet our fears. We bring into the light what hides in the darkness of the soul—what aches and presses inside us. We can begin to understand why we sometimes behave destructively and accept that we are only human. We are afraid—and we're even afraid to admit it... Yet when fear is brought to the surface, it turns out not to be so terrifying. As we build trust in life, in others, and in ourselves, fears begin to fade—and over time, they disappear.
It's worth working on yourself in every way available to you.
When you change, your surroundings change too ♥️♥️
