Before I sat in a circle for the first time myself, I had all kinds of ideas in my head. A bit of esotericism, a bit of group therapy, maybe some ritual dancing around a fire? Honestly, I didn\u2019t know what to expect.
And I think that\u2019s exactly why I stayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A women\u2019s circle is something whose name has existed for thousands of years \u2014 and which, for thousands of years, was present in every culture around the world. Women gathered together. Around the fire, while spinning wool, during births and deaths. We were there for one another.
We understood each other without words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today we live fast, separately, often behind the glass of screens. We have countless contacts but very few real encounters. We hear each other, but we are rarely truly heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA circle is not an event. It is a space where you can lay down all your roles and simply be.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n In the circle there is no hierarchy. There is no expert and audience. It is not therapy, nor is it ordinary networking\u2026 There is a circle \u2014 and within it, everyone is equal, everyone has the same place. You speak when you want, you stay silent when you want. No one comments, gives advice, or judges. This is probably the hardest part for women who are used to fixing everything around them \u2014 sitting in silence and simply being present with someone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What happens in the circle stays in the circle. This principle allows us to be more ourselves than almost anywhere else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you feel that something is missing \u2014 real conversation, genuine connection with other women, a place where you don\u2019t have to pretend everything is okay \u2014 the circle may be exactly the place for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
