I remember exactly when I started paying closer attention to the moon. I had just gone through a difficult week, stepped out into the garden one evening, and saw it above the treetops\u2014big, round, calm. I felt something that's hard to describe. As if someone had said: take it easy, everything has its own time. And it's not that I believe in moon magic or anything like that. All the magic happens within us, and the full moon, the new moon, the seasons\u2014they simply mark the passage of time and help us pause and take a small moment of introspection ;)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But since then, the full moon has become a natural stopping point for me. Once a month, no matter what, I sit down and ask myself: what has matured in my life during this time? What is ready to be let go? What am I grateful for?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can do the same\u2014in our own time, in our own rhythm.\"<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n You don't need to know anything about astrology to benefit from the rhythms of the moon. The lunar cycle lasts about 29 days\u2014almost the same as a woman's monthly cycle. The new moon is a time of sowing\u2014intentions, dreams, new beginnings. The full moon is a time of culmination\u2014harvesting, celebrating, and releasing what is no longer needed. In between, there is time for work and growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At A Piece of Paradise, I organize circles during the full moon and the new moon. We sit together, light a candle, and write or speak what this time is bringing. There is something in it that feels both very simple. Next time you see a full moon\u2014stand by the window or step outside. Take a breath. And ask yourself: what has grown in me? What has fallen away?
